What was once a vision is now becoming a reality.

We have secured a property in downtown Hampshire and will be working to transform it into a permanent home for our community’s history — not a museum for the Historical Society, but a museum for Hampshire. Our future museum will be an engaging, inviting space where stories come to life, artifacts are preserved with care, and people of all ages can connect with Hampshire’s past in meaningful ways.

This effort is closely tied to our History in Your Attic initiative. As families uncover photographs, documents, and cherished objects tucked away in attics and basements, the need for a dedicated space to preserve and share these discoveries continues to grow.

A museum ensures these items — and the stories behind them — remain part of Hampshire’s living history for generations to come.
