Volunteers – the heart of everything we do.
Whether helping at programs and events, assisting with collections and archiving, photographing or capturing video, or simply lending an extra set of hands, there are many ways to get involved.
As we begin bringing our future Hampshire History Museum to life, there will also be many opportunities for hands-on help — from preparing the space to creating a welcoming place for the community to gather.
You don’t need to be a historian — just someone who cares about our community and its wonderful history. Curiosity, reliability, and a willingness to pitch in go a long way.
We aim to match people with what they enjoy most and promise friendly company, meaningful work, and the satisfaction of being part of something bigger than yourself.
When a Town Shows Up
For the Centennial celebration, nearly 300 volunteers created Hampshire-Rama, a community play telling the story of the township — from Potawatomi people and early settlers to the coming of the railroad. Cast and crew filled the stage while volunteers built a 200-foot outdoor set near Hampshire High School.
We don’t need quite that many volunteers today — but know that you will play an important role.
